Take time out of your busy life to relax and renew. This yoga workshop will guide you through a series of postures and breath techniques that will allow you to restore your body and mind to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. This class is great for beginners or the avid yoga practitioner who would like to deepen their practice. We will move slowly and mindfully in order to find focus and connect with our physical body. Alignment and breath work are the key principles in this workshop. We will start class with introductions and a brief outline of the instructors yoga philosophy. The next part of class will focus on the body as we gently stretch and create space. At the end of class we will be passive and slow moving, allowing us to truly relax and renew in order to fully encompass our ability to grow with the spring season.

This is an all level class, modifications can/will be available!

What to bring:

  • Please bring your own yoga mat if available! We will have a small number of mats to share, on a first-come basis.
  • An open and welcoming mindset – leave your expectations and timidness at home. This class will teach you real-life exercises that can ease your busy mind.
  • Water bottle – after class it is extremely important to hydrate!
  • Questions – I would love to answer any questions you may have on yoga and developing a personal practice.

Instructor Bio:

Alyssa Johnson gained her 200-hr Hatha Yoga Certificate at Mountain Moon Yoga in Winter Park, Colorado. Her training had a heavy focus on breath awareness and physical alignment, allowing her to connect deeply with what’s inside. Yoga began as a physical pursuit, though it quickly turned to more. Alyssa credits yoga to her openness and acceptance of life as it comes, all struggles included. When she isn’t teaching she is spending her time on the lake, traveling throughout, or hanging with her family at the cabin. She welcomes and encourages any questions you may have prior to class and asks if you have any physical aliments (sciatic, hip replacement, knee surgery, etc.) that you e-mail her in advance (joh08105@d.umn.edu). Modifications and adjustments are available throughout class.
